Weekend getaway

Thursday night we drove up to Northern California to meet up with some of Luke's highschool friends. At 12:00 am we were a little sleepy, so we stopped at a campground by the river and set up for the night. When we woke up in the morning, we were greated by this beautiful scenery.

Friday morning we packed up camp and headed to Happy Camp on the Klamath River Highway where we met up with Russ & Wendie and Dustin & Alison. Russ guided us down the river for about 3 hours and I enjoyed my first white water rafting experience! In the afternoon we hiked to to Clearwater Creek where we swam beneath a beautiful waterfall and the guys did a little exploring by swimming/hiking their way down the creek.

Saturday morning Russ greated us with, "There's a bear across the river!" So I jumped out of bed and ran down to the river to see a large Brown Bear lumbering his way across the rocks on the other side of the river. It was such a beautiful site! The night before 2 bears had come through the campsite and one had even stepped over three kids who were sleeping outside!

Later that day we headed up to Ashland for Amanda & Kevin's wedding. Amanda is a friend of Luke's from highschool. The wedding was beautiful and it was a great time to catch up with friends!
